COONS COMPLETES KAMP "SWEEP" WITH "IMW" VICTORY

Boswell, Ind.......Jerry Coons Jr. completed a "sweep" of the 2007 USAC race sat Kamp Motor Speedway Thursday night, winning the opening event in the Torco Race Fuels "Indiana Midget Week" presented by Pro Source Consultants.
Coons, who also won the Lucas Oil "Indiana Sprint Week" race at the Indiana oval, led the final 20 laps of Thursday's race in his Wilke-Pak Racers Speedway Motors/K & N Filters Spike/Stanton Mopar to beat Kevin Swindell, Brady Bacon, Gary Taylor and Brad Mosen.
Bryce Townsend led the first lap and Bacon led the next nine before yielding to Coons. A mid-race tangle put Indiana Sprint Week champ Dave Darland and National Midget point leader Darren Hagen out of the race, while defending two-time Indiana Midget Week Champ Shane Cottle finished eighth. The series continues Friday at Gas City, Saturday at Lawrenceburg and Sunday at Kokomo.
