Anderson, Ind.......James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind. is the 2007 USAC National Ford Focus Champion. Robertson passed Andy Nock on the second lap of Sunday's 30-lap race at the Anderson Speedway and led the last 29 laps in Gregg Steele's Lucas Oil - Robertson Drywall Beast. Alison MacLeod came on late in the race to finish a strong second ahead of third-place Tanner Swanson, the point leader in USAC's Carolina Ford Focus Series. Sunday's main event was halted four times by red flags and slowed once by a late yellow. The reds and yellows forced several cars from competition and driver Mike Mohelski was taken to a local hospital for observation after hitting the fourth-turn wall during a multi-car accident on lap four. Robertson also posted Sunday's fastest qualifying time and won his heat race. The two 25-lap prelims were won by MacLeod and Jordan Pennington. "This is a tremendous honor," said Robertson in victory lane. "To win four USAC titles in my first three years is pretty special. I was struggling a little with the car at the start but the car was good enough to stay in front. I really didn't know Alison was closing at the end but I knew she was second because I could see the leader board. I knew I had to be consistent at the end to win it." Jacob Thompson of Franklin, Ind. led all 25 laps to win the accompanying USAC Kenyon Midget special event in his A-Trophy Business Yamaha.
