The Washington Midget Racing Association (WMRA), took its racing series over to Idaho this past weekend for what will be the only series event staged out of state on the 2007 WMRA racing schedule.  Walt and Joe Doellefeld's Stateline Stadium provided the backdrop and the series stars provided the action as Evan Margeson methodically worked his way towards the leaders and then took advantage of Tony Seidelman's late race bobble and took the lead on the final lap to score the win. Seidelman had led the first 34 laps of the event.

Brea Lopez, the 18 year-old driving talent from Vader, Washington, capped off another good, solid weekend performance by finishing sixth in the 35 lap main event. Lopez, finished fourth in her heat, after qualifying fourth fastest in the qualification round with a posting of 12.905 seconds around the 1/4 mile paved Stateline oval.

Lopez later won the four lap A Dash race for the top four qualifiers. She won the Dash over Brad Curtis, Ken Ferris and eventual feature race winner Evan Margeson.

Lopez was somewhat disappointed over her sixth place finish at Stateline. In a phone conversation she explained, "We qualified well and I thought we could make the car better with a few chassis tweaks. We made far too many changes and wound up struggling a bit with the car throughout the feature event. I feel I learned a valuable lesson at Stateline and hopefully can use the lesson the next time we go racing."

The next scheduled WMRA series event is set to take place on May 26th at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval.

After the Wenatchee event, the WMRA will be off until the 9th of June when they return to action to race at the Ephrata Raceway located in Ephrata, Washington.
