Badger Midget schedule released; 26 dates slated
First indoor event in 16 years

Sun Prairie,Wis., Jan. 4- Officials of the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association (BMARA) released a 26-race schedule for the 2008 racing season, today. The season will mark the 72nd year of sanctioning midget auto racing, for the country's oldest midget auto racing organization.
For the first time since 1992, Badger will sanction an indoor event, which will serve as their season opener on Saturday Night/Sunday afternoon March 29-30. The Amsoil Sandbox Arena (New Richmond,Wis.), a 120,000 sq. foot indoor facility which opened in October for motocross racing will host two events on a 1/4-mile clay oval.
Sun Prairie's Angell Park Speedway will again serve as the cornerstone of the series, with the first of seventeen races beginning held on Sunday Night May 18 with a 50-lap feature. The Angell Park season will conclude on Saturday Aug. 30 with the running of the $10,000 to-win Firemans Nationals presented by Pepsi. Other special events at the track include 50-lap features on May 25, and Aug. 17. The 8th annual Hall of Fame Classic will again be run as two separate events on Aug. 23-24 co-sanctioned with USAC.
USAC, Badger and four other series (ARDC, POWRi, RMMRA and SMRS) will sanction the 7th annual Pepsi/Mt. Dew Knoxville Midget Nationals on June 20-21 at the legendary Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway. Charter Raceway (Beaver Dam, Wis.) will host three Saturday Badger/IRA Sprint Car Series doubleheader events at facility on May 3, May 31 and July 12. Other traditional events returning include: "The Sue Thiel Memorial"" at Dodge County Fairgrounds (Beaver Dam,Wis.) on May 30, and "The Salute to Harry Turner" at Wilmot Speedway (Wilmot,Wis.) on June 14.
