American Midget Car Star Davey Ray Heads For Arena Manawatu

NMCS PR, Auckland, NZ. November 18, 2008
- Round three of the National Midget Car Series heads to Palmerston North’s Arena Manawatu this Saturday night. The all-star field will line up for the inaugural Manawatu Midget Car Classic. Adding to the already impressive talent will be American star Davey Ray, driving the innovative kiwi built Synergy V8 powered number 88. Ray has stopped off to race here on route home from Australia after competing in the prestigious Magic Man 34 Midget car classic at Perth’s Kwinana Speedway.

An in - form field headed by “mr excitement” Shayne Alach and the “young gun” Brad Mosen will contest the honours. Another of the best in this business and back from another season racing in the USA, is Kiwi Michael Pickens looking to be the first name on the trophy.

Series leader Lance Beale, current New Zealand Champion Shaun Insley and former NZ Champions Graham Standring, Carl Worboys and Michael Kendall will be out to make their mark on the first midget event held at the venue in recent memory. Others to watch in the field will be 2nz Bill Clarkson, Scott Buckley and Angus McLeod.

A strong full field contingent of 24 cars will line up, all wanting to be the winner of the inaugural Midget Car Classic.

This will be one night you won’t want to miss!
