Rain Stops Badger Midget Feature
By Bryan Gapinski, Sun Prairie, Wis., May 25---Heavy rain showers during the pace laps for the 50-lap Badger Midget Series feature Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway, forced completion of the evenings race events.
The 22-car starting field equally divided the purse and points for the event. Earlier in the evening Jerry Coons Jr., won the trophy dash and his heat race. Chad DeSelle and Davey Ray also won heat races. Buddy Luebke topped the field in qualifying, his first career fast time in series competition.
The upcoming tripleheader weekend starts on Friday May 30 at Dodge County Fairgrounds (Beaver Dam, Wis.), with a USAC National/Badger co-sanctioned event. The next evening action shifts down the road to Charter Raceway Park, a doubleheader with the IRA Sprint Car Series, followed by Sunday Night at Angell Park capping off the weekend.
